Body Mechanics and Strength for Doulas

Doulas endure a high volume of physical work during birth and postpartum to support birthing families. This includes positions that are held for periods of time, like bending over, to repetitive moves like massage, squats, or applying repeated pressure. In this session, birth and postpartum workers will learn how to find their neutral, strong alignment in many of the positions they encounter in their work, how to breathe properly in them, and how to increase strength and endurance. Knowing how to efficiently move will help reduce injury, aches, and improve recovery time!
